Holiday Party Makeover Tips:
Avoiding the party pig-out during the holidays can be challenging. In case you need a reminder, never arrive hungry, and always be sure to drink plenty of water. Having a pre-party snack and adequate fiber and protein is your best strategy for avoiding guilt after the event.
Now that you’re thinking with a clear head, here are some simple swaps so you can eat, drink and be merry without adding extra pounds.
Instead of….. Try……
Baked Brie Fruit and cheese grape cheese balls
Sugar and spiced nuts Plain mixed nuts
Spinach and Artichoke Dip Guacamole and salsa with Vegetable crudités
Pigs in the blanket Bruschetta with vegetables or seafood-based toppings
Cheese and Meat Platter Shrimp cocktail and chicken kebabs
Cocktails Red Wine
Cake, Cookies, Cream Puffs Pie Fruit with whipped cream; berries with mascarpone

We all struggle with the ” What should I eat?” question. I always tell my clients that there is always a best choice of what you may have to choose from.
So,I wanted to give you a few examples of food choices that offer good nutrition. verses bad nutrition choices.
Examples of foods with Higher Nutritional density:
*Bright or deeply colored vegetables
*Bright or deeply colored fruits
*Beans, meats, eggs
Examples of lower Nutritional Density foods:
*Soda and fruit jucies
*Hot Dogs and Deli Meats
*Refined grains/ flours, pastries
